What to look out for: Holiday Season Scams

The scams do not stop during the holidays, in fact they get worse. Look out for common scammer trends:

-Text messages from wrong numbers

-Emails stating that you have won prizes that you have been randomly selected for

-Emails stating you have a package awaiting pickup

-Phone calls with over zealous individuals instructing you to pay money for a services they previously provided

-Phone calls stating that they are a type of law-enforcement

-Be aware of emails that are misspelled

These are common tactics used by scammers to get personal information or distinctive online attributes. Do not fall for them. If it doesn't feel right, it isn't.
